Documents Required
To apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) in Latvia through real estate investment, you will need to prepare the following common documents:
1. APPLICATION FORM

A completed and signed TRP application form, available from the Latvian Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) or their website.
2. PASSPORT

A valid passport with copies of relevant pages. It should be valid for at least three months beyond your intended stay.
3. PHOTOGRAPHS
-
Passport-sized photos (typically two), meeting Latvian visa photo requirements.


4. HEALTH INSURANCE
Proof of health insurance valid in Latvia for the duration of the TRP, covering emergency medical care.
5. PROOF OF FINANCIAL MEANS
Documentation showing sufficient financial means to support your stay in Latvia, such as bank statements or proof of income.
6. CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE
A police clearance certificate from your home country or any country where you’ve resided for over 12 months in the last five years. This document must be translated into Latvian and apostilled or legalized.
7. ACCOMMODATION PROOF
Proof of accommodation in Latvia, such as a rental agreement if you do not plan to live in the purchased property immediately.
8. FAMILY MEMBER DOCUMENTS
If applying for TRPs for family members, provide:

Marriage certificate for a spouse.

Birth certificates for children.

These documents must be translated into Latvian and apostilled or legalized.


9. BIOMETRIC DATA
Applicants must provide biometric data (fingerprints and a photo) when submitting their application.
10. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
The OCMA may request additional documents based on your specific circumstances.
11. TRANSLATION AND LEGALIZATION
All documents not in Latvian must be translated by a certified translator. Foreign-issued documents must be apostilled or legalized.
12. APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Submit your application at the OCMA in Latvia or at a Latvian embassy or consulate in your home country.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR REAL ESTATE:
1. PROOF OF REAL ESTATE PURCHASE

Purchase agreement or other documentation confirming the acquisition of real estate.

Land Register certificate showing you as the legal owner of the property.

Proof of property value and confirmation of full payment.
2. PAYMENT OF STATE FEESProof of payment for the state fee, which is 5% of the property value.
3. PROOF OF TAX PAYMENTS
Proof that all applicable property taxes have been paid.
